Genre: Thriller, mystery
Formats Available For Review: Mobi, Pdf

Only a bump in the night kept their first overnight sail from being their last.

A bomb shatters the midnight silence, giving Mark and Kate only seconds to escape before their sailboat turns into a flaming hell. Meanwhile, a wrecking crew batters down the wall of their shop to steal a crucial tool the CIA needs to prevent a neo-Nazi takeover in Eastern Europe.

It should have been a perfect crime – witnesses dead, evidence spirited away, police not interested. But Eddie Grant helps Mark McGinley and Kate Hall follow the clues from Biscayne Bay to Paris, then on to the mountains of Hungary. There, the caves hide explosive secrets and the group must confront a new generation of storm troopers, this time supported by the Russian bear. The second escape is as close as the first.

Finding Pegasus is the story of an international criminal network marching in lockstep with the neo-Nazi autocrats of Eastern Europe; a paranoid, egocentric American Navy admiral; an old and bitter Silicon Valley billionaire; and a retired Hungarian spy who moved to Paris because the food was better.

Finding Pegasus, third in the Eddie Grant novel series. Publication July 30. Available now for preorder. Audio book will follow shortly.

Non-Fiction recounts of my free-range childhood in the 1940s & 50s, and the amazing and hilarious adventures initiated with my younger brother. We lived an active childhood and wreaked havoc all around our neighborhood. The beautiful illustrations in my book could tell the stories without a printed word. This book is narrated by my great-granddaughter who declares over and over her love for her grandparents and how important they are in her life. Her Nana’s yarns tie in many different lessons in what “not to do” and the themes throughout the book will surely hold imaginations long beyond the last page. Today’s child needs to know that family history is a very valuable commodity and should never be forgotten.

Psychological/Historical/Religious Fiction – Chanting the Feminine Down

Chanting the Feminine DownChanting the Feminine Down
A Psychological, Religious, and Historical Novel
By James C. McCullagh
Published: November 2017
ISBN: 978-1979059909
ASIN: B07D6XTKVC
Genre: Psychological fiction; historical fiction; religious fiction
Formats Available For Review: Print (limited quantities, only available to qualified reviewers/bloggers in the U.S.)

Chanting the Feminine Down is at heart the painful journey of Colette, a young woman who struggles to come to grips with her Catholicism, her psychology and her soul. Vast in scope and coverage, the novel is a journey through history, mythology and time with the female protagonist searching for shards of the feminine in the Christian tradition while wrestling with the shadow of her own demons. Colette’s travels, musings and reflections take her from the present day to the various Catholic Church councils, making side trips with Boccaccio and the Renaissance crowd.

While Chanting is a religious and psychological novel, the bedrock of the narrative is personal and interior, as is reflected in the dozens of dreams experienced by the heroine which serve as a counterpoint to and a mirror of her bouts with Christian doctrine. Jungian psychology adds meaning and perspective both to her history and to events from the far past.

Chanting is also a feminist novel, not only because of the persona of the protagonist, but because she embraces heroic feminists throughout the ages who have stood up to patriarchy and the church. But for Colette, where will this embrace lead?

YA Fantasy – The Tower

Genre: Young Adult, YA Fantasy
Formats Available For Review: Epub and mobi

As summer draws to a close before the beginning of junior year, Rowyn Black is tired of seeing the Tower card stare up at her from the table.

On their 16th birthday, Rowyn’s kind is gifted with awesome powers. Except no, not really, because this is not Narnia or Hogwarts, or any other mythical realm where witches live. This is Elizabethtown, Illinois, and much to the chagrin of the local chapter of Susie-Homemakers, they live there.

All witches understand that the universe is a scary sort of powerful… on a good day. And on a bad day? Well, that’s when The Tower card shows its face during a reading.

While Rowyn hopes that the only thing The Tower foretells is the sight of the school parking lot on the first day – full of more jacked-up trucks and cut-off shorts than a Luke Bryan video – the universe has other plans.

And when the promise of The Tower comes crashing down, they all might fall right along with it.
