Drama teachers everywhere enjoyed Ms. Johnson’s first toolkit for the theatre arts so much that she wrote another one! While the first book focuses on everything about a complete stage production, this one covers every aspect of classroom theatre arts. Students will learn group activities, improvisation, technical theatre, choral reading, mime, stage fighting and more. The book includes a step-by-step 10-day assignment using monologues for character development and a unit that teaches students how to write their own show. Examples are provided with illustrations, photos, and proven ideas. Reproducible forms, tests, and handouts are also provided together with a list of additional resources. Both beginners and seasoned drama directors will find this book to be an invaluable aid. As with the original book, it will banish your stress and guarantee your success.

This book is most beneficial for painters who are just starting out their careers as a Professional Painter and who are more DIY (Do It Yourself) type like the author.

From the author:

-When I say DIY, I mean taking your career as a Painter and your business in your own hands and not depending on art galleries to discover you, market you and promote you. There are other venues that need to be tapped and explored — online as well as off line.

-If you are a Painter with a gallery representation, you may find my point of view offensive. My purpose is not to offend you. Having a Gallery Representation is not the ultimate goal of this book. If it is the gallery representation that you seek — this book may not be for you. You see the digital revolution is going to replace the gallery setting sooner than we think. The sooner you grasp this concept and come in terms with it, the better prepared you will be when this traditional venue becomes as rare as four leaf clover. Therefore, like Noah, we must start to prepare and design the ark accordingly so when the flood arrives, we are ready to set sail and keep afloat.

-Inside this book you will also find examples of real newsletter and exhibition announcement that may give you an idea of how to create those for yourself.

-You may notice that the book is thin — 86 pages to be exact. It is because there is no fluff. Furthermore there are some blank pages (behind the images to separate the chapters). Use that space for doodling, sticking reference photos for your projects, jotting down ideas and taking notes. The chapters are short and to the point. It is created specifically for the aspiring painters by the painter (me) so be prepared to come across some strong opinions which may or may not resonate with you. When that happens keep in mind your situation may be different. This is what that has worked for me.

-Take what works for you and run with it. Explore and discover — yourself, your artistic style, new artists, books, magazines and the venues where to show your art. You will be surprised how far you can go if you keep the faith in yourself, your skills and your own abilities.
