One man’s tale of escape from Communism in WWII to his new and successful life and family in the United States.

“From Hell to Iowa” is a true story of a journey in life that very few have taken. Through incredible circumstances Charlie Notis and his mother were separated from the rest of the family and stuck inside communist Albania under the ruthless dictatorship of Enver Hoxha  when Charlie was a baby at the end of the second World War. He and his mother made a harrowing escape when he was 10 years old and joined the rest of the family in Brockton, MA. He eventually ended up in Iowa where he earned a Master of Science degree in meteorology from Iowa State University and co-founded a weather consulting company called Freese-Notis Weather in Des Moines, got married, and raised a family. The twists and turns in Charlie’s life are nothing short of miraculous.

Lamb of Legacy: A Child’s Survival in Hitler’s Berlin is the beautifully honest and haunting true story of Edeltraud Fellendorf’s childhood in Silesia and adolescent years in Berlin, Germany, where she was raised in the shadow of Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich, the madness of World War 2, and the years that followed. She survives today through the grace of God, and is determined to finally share her story before everything is forgotten—before the past is buried and no one remembers the ugliness of a world at war and what it means to be a German girl, a sacrificial Lamb that innocently carried on Hitler’s Legacy.
