Preacher’s kid. Idaho river-bottoms boy. U.S. Army tank gunner in Cold War Germany. Then decades of self-medication, two broken marriages, a farm dream ended by a drug raid, and long-haul trucking as one rolling blackout, until rock bottom in a Walmart parking lot and 197 days in the Twin Falls jail. From River Bottoms to Rock Bottom and Back is Don Lineberry’s honest, unvarnished memoir of addiction, accountability, and redemption: the Veterans Justice Outreach lifeline, Boise Rescue Mission’s faith-based New Life Program, and the hard daily work of recovery. Today Don serves as a case manager with the Boise Rescue Mission Veterans Ministry and advocates in Veterans Treatment Court. Written for the broken, the drifting, and anyone who thinks they’ve gone too far to come back. $1 from every copy supports the Boise Rescue Mission Veterans Ministry.
